A Day In Liverpool

When Olive and Vilija got in touch with me to photograph their winter wedding in Liverpool in January of
course I jumped at the chance. The week before had been the most snow we have had in years with my kids
school being closed and my car being snowed in for days.
Finally the snow thawed out and the day came for me to travel to Liverpool for the wedding. Driving over
from Manchester it was a really misty morning but as I arrived in Liverpool the sun burned through the
clouds and blue skies were in abundance.
Arriving at St George’s Hall in Liverpool was magical. It truly is an architecturally stunning building both
inside and out. From the first hug with the girls I knew it was going to be a day full of fun.
The warmth and love radiating from this pair was truly heart warming. After an intimate ceremony we took
some group shots in the gardens before advancing to the steps and pillars at the front of the building.
I genuinely couldn’t believe how dreamy the sunlight was and how natural Oliva and V were in front of the
camera. The next two hours were spent exploring the Docks of Liverpool in the balmy sunshine taking photos
at any given opportunity.

Sometimes I am so blessed to have a job where I can really connect with a couple in love. Olive and Vilija
were so relaxed and I think the fact we had around 3 hours together for their couple shots meant we weren’t
rushed and really had the time to create some beautiful wedding portraits.
My favourite moment was when we decided to get some photos on a Victorian Carousel. This is now my favourite
backdrop for wedding couple portrait photos.
We met the couples’ guests at the venue where they were having their reception and I carried on taking
photos for another hour while everyone was having a lovely time. I wanted to write this blog to show you how
your wedding day can be completely tailored to you. The girls booked me for 4.5 hours and we spent the
majority of that on our own walking, talking, drinking delicious coffee and of curse taking some fantastic
photos along the way.
For any couple, LGBTQ+ or straight don’t ever forget your day is about you. You can do whatever you want to
do and if that means drinking coffee and riding on carousels I am here for it!!!
